Ru Lemer
Music producer, audio engineer and keyboardist
About
Ru Lemer is a London-based music producer, audio engineer and keyboardist working as a freelancer and head engineer at Temple Music Studio. His credits include Dalton Harris, Soft Machine, Foxes, Foals, Barbara Thompson, Nile Rodgers, NYJO, Kelsea Ballerini, Natacha Atlas, Colosseum, Charlie Winston and Tom Grennan; he has recorded concerts at the O2 Academy Brixton, Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Electric Brixton; and has mixed in Dolby Atmos and Sony 360RA immersive formats for major labels Sony Music, EMI Records, Warner Music and Virgin Atlantic.
After graduating Surrey University’s Tonmeister course with first-class honours and the Focusrite prize for technical achievement; Ru spent 2 years as resident assistant engineer at The Clubhouse, New York. There, he worked with multi-award winning professionals including Neil Dorfsman, T Bone Burnett, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette, Natalie Merchant and Garth Hudson.
Prior to graduating; Ru was musical director and keyboardist for theatre productions, pantomimes, and a variety of musical ensembles - including a Big Band and Gospel Choir. Collaborating closely with diverse performers whilst studying engineering resulted in a passion for studio sessions, and an obsession with recording. Ru's production ethos comes from a place of deep personal investment, alongside open communication and experimentation.
